Long’s latest is the 11th book in the multi-author romantic suspense miniseries “The Coltons of Grave Gulch” (after Linda O. Johnston’s Uncovering Colton’s Family Secret). There’s a serial killer on the loose in Grave Gulch, and FBI agent Bryce Colton is tasked with both bringing him to justice and keeping the criminal’s latest obsession, local deli owner Olivia Margulies, safe from his evil machinations. Bryce is still reeling from recent upheavals in his personal life, though, which have him questioning his own future—can he truly give Olivia the life she deserves? And will either of them live long enough to find out?
VERDICT Fans of this series aren’t going to want to give up this close to the series conclusion, though both the romance and the suspense in this story are a bit on the tepid side. One major series plot thread is finally resolved here, at least, which will be a relief to readers who have been with the series from the beginning.
