In this second book in Maxwell's "Fighting for Love" series, District Attorney Vanessa MacGregor is a woman who is so afraid of commitment that she lives by a set of immutable rules that no man could possibly live up to. She needs control but has to learn to let go. Her best friend's brother, Jackson "Jax" Maris, learns that he needs to find a woman who doesn't cling to him—in other words, someone who keeps control of herself, at least most of the time.
