Jimmy Ford (Jason Michael Carroll) is a talented front man/composer for an unsuccessful New Jersey rock band called the Sorties. Captain, their manager, tells Jimmy rock is out of favor, but country is hot, and Jimmy should try Nashville. At odds with the other band members, Jimmy takes off. His career in Nashville languishes until an up-and-coming country singer named Malinda Price (Katie Garfield) notices him and gives him the boost he needs but hides her involvement. As they grow closer, Jimmy learns that Malinda lied to him about several things. Disillusioned, he returns home to discover Captain lied about a nonexistent record deal to get him back to Jersey. Selling his worldly goods, including his guitar, Jimmy goes off alone, spending three months writing songs for Malinda, whom he loves.
VERDICT This film featuring both rock-and-roll and country music is impossible to dislike. Devotees of those genres are in for a treat.
