Supot lives in two worlds: the real world, where he suffers through his thankless job as a Royal Thai Mail carrier, and the world he escapes to through the silver screen, “a world where anything is possible.” When he and his cinephile friend Ali discover a mysterious VHS tape containing the obscure but exquisite Bangkok 2010, they become obsessed with finding its origin. Through comical covert ops, cults, and curses, their farcical, fantastical journey teaches them to follow their hearts and brings their dreams to life. Cotterill (The Delightful Life of a Suicide Pilot) offers an intricate, atmospheric twist on a dual narrative. Narrator Steven Crossley depicts Supot’s reality with an adorable and unassuming air, as we follow his quest for Bangkok 2010, while narrator Amy Scanlon presents the film that consumes him, in an engaging and emotional screenplay format. Their combined efforts create a compelling listening experience full of wit and whimsy.
