In Whiddon’s (
Finding the Rancher’s Son) latest, fifth-grade teacher Jennifer Glass spends her summer vacation filling in for her identical twin on an undercover ATF operation. When ATF agent Micah Spokane approaches her in a busy department store, Jennifer isn’t sure she can believe what the handsome stranger is telling her. But he soon convinces her that not only is he her long-lost sister’s partner at the ATF, but he also desperately needs her to take her sibling’s place in a dangerous operation. Can Micah keep them both safe, especially once their fake relationship starts to feel oh so real?
VERDICT Readers who grew up watching spy dramas filled with undercover ops may enjoy this ordinary person–turned–undercover spy romance. While the story requires some suspension of disbelief, the characters are likable, and the romance doesn’t feel like too much of a stretch.
