With a nonsensical reason for their undercover assignment and plot twists that are obvious from the beginning, reading the latest installment in this series is far more frustrating than it is entertaining.
Readers who have gotten this far in the series will appreciate the everyone-lives-happily-ever-after-with-a-wedding epilogue they’ve been waiting for, but the story itself, with implausible investigative work and a lukewarm romance, doesn’t have too much to recommend it to newcomers.
Readers who were introduced to the main characters in the first book of Cornelison’s “Cameron Glen” series (Mountain Retreat Murder) might want to find out if the Turners can resolve their problems, but the far-fetched chain of events that lead to the eventual happily-ever-after will be hard to swallow.
