This very sultry and satisfying installment in the "Reapers" series (Dark Alpha's Hunger) does a bang-up job of settling the fate of Bran and Death and explaining the reason for the Reapers' existence; highly recommended.
This latest "Reapers" installment (after Dark Alpha's Demand) is a lively addition to the series, with plenty of action and intrigue as well as a fair degree of top-shelf hanky-panky. The story demonstrates how Fintan and Cat's connection allows them to overcome their pain and give each other the love and pleasure they deserve; highly recommended.
In this latest from Grant (Night's Blaze; Hot Blooded), sensational sex and authentic Scottish dialog make up for a labyrinthine plot, while the threat caused by the Dark Fae creates a nice backdrop to the desperate romance between Darcy and Warrick.
The ongoing "Dark Kings" series is loosely tied to Grant's "Dark Warriors" and "Dark Sword" series, and brief mention of those titles is made in the last two stories here. The tales are fast paced and loosely plotted and leave several plot threads hanging. What happened to Cassie's brother? Who is conspiring against the Dragon Kings? What is happening with the Silver dragons and their king? One hopes these questions will be answered in the forthcoming Darkest Flame and Fire Rising (both 2014), but new readers may become frustrated at the repetitiveness of these pieces. Recommended only for libraries where Grant's previous series are popular.
Overall, a sizzling fantasy story combining the best elements of romance, magic, and adventure. This will be popular with fans of Grant's other works and with readers of Karen Marie Moning and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
