Readers will respect Grace's strength when she is sorely tested, while Duncan's warm, courageous heart will enrapture fans of Scottish rogues. This novella is short on character development mostly owing to its numerous passionate sex scenes. The motivations for the lovers' initial affair aren't believable, and Devlin's current actions make it difficult to root for them as a couple. Recommended only for readers who intend to read the entire Trent series.
Abby Craden's excellent, polished, and clear narration enhances the listener's enjoyment of this historical romance. Recommended for romance fans. ["With beautifully rendered characters, lush sensuality, and a riveting story line, this well-told tale puts a refreshing spin on both the hidden identity and classic reunion plots," read the review of the Grand Central pb, LJ 8/12.—Ed.]
With beautifully rendered characters, lush sensuality, and a riveting story line, this well-told tale puts a refreshing spin on both the hidden identity and classic reunion plots and gets Haymore's new series off to a delightful start. Haymore (A Season of Seduction) lives in Southern California.
