Loaded with suspenseful psychological thrills, comedy, and dark humor, this genre-crossing work will appeal to a wide range of listeners as it is a little bit Maeve Binchy, Dean Koontz, and Lisa Scottoline. This novel sheds light on the truths that we all fear as parents, spouses, and friends. It's perfect for those long summer days, but readers will have to pace themselves to not devour it in one sitting. [See Prepub Alert, 2/21/16.]
Well done and enjoyable listening. Recommended for public libraries. ["Once again Moriarty demonstrates an excellent talent for exposing the dark, seedy side of the otherwise 'perfect' family unit while keeping the characters believable enough to be someone you might know," read the starred review of the Amy Einhorn: Putnam hc, LJ Xpress Reviews, 7/4/14.]
Once again Moriarty demonstrates an excellent talent for exposing the dark, seedy side of the otherwise "perfect" family unit while keeping the characters believable enough to be someone you might know. Considering the best-selling success of The Husband's Secret, her tale of dangerous lies, runaway gossip, and badly behaved parents will attract a wide readership. Highly recommended. [See Prepub Alert, 2/1/14.]
Moriarty examines the ease with which darkness can spread into relationships. Weaving stories from multiple perspectives keeps this one interesting all while leaving the reader wondering what will happen next. This great summer read is hard to put down.
Moriarty seems to have a flair for writing about realistic situations that have a twist. Fans of Luanne Rice and Barbara Delinsky will enjoy this title; those reentering the dating world and finding it difficult to navigate will be especially entertained. [See Prepub Alert, 12/12/11.]
