Brown has said that the Runnymede novels, starting with Six of One, are the ones she was born to write, as they reflect her birthplace and family. This is more loving domestic comedy of small-town life when times were simpler. Recommended for fans of Brown and beyond. [See Prepub Alert, 4/25/16.]
Sister Jane Arnold, master of foxhounds, has traveled to Kentucky for a meeting with the Woodford Hounds, but bad weather and the discovery of human remains in an equine graveyard disrupts their hunt...
Recommended for libraries whose patrons are interested in foxhunting or who are fans of the series. Other patrons will find the audiobook uninteresting.
Brown is the award-winning author of two much-loved mystery series and several other wonderful novels. She should either return to her former mystery-writing style or switch to nonfiction. This combination isn't working. Conditionally recommended for fans of Brown's work or listeners interested in stories set in Nevada.
