With top-notch psychological suspense and carefully attuned narration, this novel will please Miranda’s many fans. Recommended for fans of Nicci French’s Has Anyone Seen Charlotte Salter?? and Amy Engel’s The Roanoke Girls.
Listeners will be captivated by Miranda’s (Such a Quiet Place) latest, made all the more compelling by Allwine’s skillful and sympathetic characterization of Abby. Highly recommended for fans of cold-case mysteries and atmospheric psychological thrillers.
Another successful mystery thriller from Miranda (The Last House Guest). The perfect suburban setting; the secretive, quirky neighbors; three unsolved murders; and an Agatha Christie vibe make this whodunit an excellent beach read.
This is a great whodunit, done well. Olivia/Arden narrates but Miranda (The Last House Guest) creatively uses media transcripts, newspaper reports, book excerpts, and voicemails to piece together her fragmented story that ends with a chilling twist. [See Prepub Alert, 12/9/19.]
Even though Miranda's latest (All the Missing Girls; The Perfect Stranger) is labeled young adult (YA), adult thriller fans will enjoy it as well. As with Paula Hawkins's Gone Girl, the reader and Jessa do not know what is true and what isn't, who is lying and why.
YA author Miranda, who moved into the adult market with All the Missing Girls, proves she isn't a one-hit wonder with this exciting thriller. Its twisty tale with many layers—a little romance, great writing, and an awesome story line—will keep psychological suspense fans turning the pages.[See Prepub Alert, 11/26/16.]
YA author Miranda makes her adult fiction debut with this carefully crafted and riveting thriller that is narrated in reverse chronological order, a tense and unusual reading experience that both disorients and intrigues. Readers will obsessively read backward day by day to uncover gradually the surprise ending.
