A good choice for readers wanting to try books featuring BDSM, as Parker ("The Compass" series) makes use of a few different kinks throughout, but only a few scenes appear in their entirety. The shifts in Shep's personality over the three-year gap could have been fleshed out more, but it's a minor quibble in an enjoyable read.
