In the third "Taipei Night Market" series book (after Incensed), Jing-nan Chen answers a call from an old friend and classmate, Peggy Lee. Peggy runs her family's large corporate bank and real estate company. Her father, Tommy, has been kidnapped, and she is counting on Jing-nan to help locate him before it's too late. In lieu of financial ransom, the kidnappers want a computer chip to which Tommy Lee has access. Jing-nan is reluctantly recruited for the rescue, even seeking the help of his girlfriend's former lover. Unfortunately, the more Jing-nan learns about Tommy Lee, the less inclined he is assist, but he ends up having no choice. Actor Ewan Chung voices Jing-nan with the author's wry touches of humor successfully portrayed.
VERDICT Recommended for mystery/thriller fans, especially those already following the series.
