A Gruesome Discovery: A Reverend Mother Mystery

In this fourth clerical series outing (after Beyond Absolution), Reverend Mother Aquinas takes on the task of discovering who killed a rich businessman when his corpse is found in a trunk donated to the school. Set in 1920s Ireland, the story incorporates political upheaval, changing gender roles, and the clash between religious and secular beliefs into the unfolding investigation. The Reverend Mother assists Dr. Scher and Inspector Cashman, one of her former students, as they probe the various motives of the numerous suspects, including family members, servants, a potentially dishonest lawyer, and a business partner. With her growing involvement, the Reverend Mother turns her sights to identifying the real killer before an innocent life is destroyed.
