A Novel Murder

DEBUT This mystery by a pseudonymous former publishing professional is set at a crime fiction conference in the quaint English town of Hoslewit. Socially awkward and barely successful author Jane Hepburn is attending the conference in hopes of confronting her agent, Carrie Marks, face to face. Jane has a new manuscript to submit, and Carrie has been avoiding all contact with her, so Jane feels this conference is her last hope of convincing the agent to keep her on as a client. But the first time Jane actually sees Carrie is when she finds her dead body in the vendor tent. Her plan to talk with Carrie derailed, Jane gets caught up in the investigation of the agent’s murder. There is no shortage of suspects, as Carrie was known for being ruthless and cruel. In addition to suspects, however, the crime fiction conference is bursting with just as many amateur sleuths wanting to investigate. Soon, Jane has a small cadre ready to help her solve the murder. If along the way Jane can finally do some networking and even get inspiration for a new novel, she’ll mark the conference as a success.
