A Quiet Retreat

When Blakely Baldwin receives an invite to Black Hills Manor for an all-inclusive writing retreat, it feels too good to be true. A serious case of writer’s block and a looming deadline, however, have made her just desperate enough to take that chance. The secluded Victorian manor appears to be the perfect backdrop for the five mystery authors who convene at the retreat, but as items go missing and mysterious figures appear in the woods, the home’s haunted past might inspire more than just their writing. Unsure of whom to trust and seemingly stranded, the authors begin to turn on one another. Modglin (The Arrangement) offers chilling psychological suspense. Tension builds slowly across two separate, seemingly disconnected storylines until it culminates in a frantic, frightening climax. Narrator Carly Robins provides unique and engaging voices for the large cast of characters. Coupled with the immersive detail, her performance creates a creepy, compelling listening experience.
