The English coast in summer is a tranquil setting for the three novellas in this addition to the “Timeless Regency” series. Kilpack’s tender story, “The New Countess,” features a recently remarried couple whose blended family heads to the seaside to relax and settle into their new dynamic; in the face of new challenges, Diane and her new husband will have to decide whether their ideas of family are compatible. In “Mishaps and Memories,” Keyes crafts the perfect opportunity for an obtuse hero to learn about consequences and life outside his station when he suffers amnesia and is rescued by the woman he’d teased during her introduction to society. Finally, Moore’s “Moonlight Summer” stars a woman whose fate is at the whim of her relatives, and a second son who must make the most of a difficult situation; a chance encounter quickly convinces Dorothea and Lord Rosewell that her best match may not be the one her family has planned.
VERDICT Fans of classic Regency romance will fall for these charmingly sweet summertime love stories and seek out more by Kilpack (“A Culinary Mystery” series), Keyes (The Road Through Rushbury), and Moore (The Paper Daughters of Chinatown).
