Six-year-old Holly loses her parents in a tragic accident at Christmastime. Initially, she lives with her aunt Rachel, her father's sister, until legal matters are settled. Unfortunately, her parents' will grants custody of Holly to her mother's sister, Lydia. Rachel is dismayed at the thought of bringing her only remaining family member to live with Amish relatives.
