This opposites-attract romance unites Marlowe with Law Renaud, the owner of a distillery looking to become a part of her family’s holdings. After a rocky introduction, the two become close when Marlowe visits the distillery on family business. Both Marlowe and Law have past relationships, which have left them guarded, and they each find it difficult to trust each other.
VERDICT Readers will enjoy the easy chemistry and the story of these two wounded people finding fulfillment in each other, though some of the same over-the-top backstory elements, which strain credulity in the previous books in the series, remain.
