Meeting people who say they have seen Bigfoot (or yetis or Sasquatch), visiting sites of alleged sightings, and listening to stories about monster-hunting seem to have convinced Sykes (The Nature of the Beast) of the possibility of one of these creatures actually existing. However, the one thing that Sykes was supposed to bring to the search for these creatures, which was his expertise as a geneticist, found no proof of that at all. The couple of interesting findings—that there may be a different type of bear wandering the Himalayas and the new information on the mythological figure Zana—have nothing to do with helping to verify the existence of Bigfoot.
VERDICT For those fascinated by Bigfoot, the author's personal experiences in tracking down this creature will probably be of interest, but anyone hoping for scientific proof will be disappointed. Worth buying only for libraries that must have everything written on this subject.
