Parisian expert gardener Tsimba makes permaculture accessible to those who have limited space in which to garden. Her book covers many topics, but the core focuses on sustainability and practicing eco-friendly habits year-round. Since 2018, France has been approving laws that ban different pesticides. As a result, Tsimba learned a few methods that serve as natural pest controls, and she shares them with readers. Like a beloved gardening mentor, she gives great advice about how to succeed at container gardening. Her book includes best practices for where to make a container garden, along with what and when to plant, so that readers can enjoy the fruits, flowers, and veggies of their labor. The book’s photography is crisp and clearly shows techniques for sowing and saving seeds for the next year, reading and understanding germination temperature charts, and mixing a garlic infusion for plant health. While this book was first published in France, measurements are given in inches, and resources are American websites.
VERDICT This work is an excellent book to hand to beginner gardeners and to include in collections that need more titles about container gardening.
