Cute and colorful, this book features patterns for how to crochet five pairs of wild animals (zebras, monkeys, pandas, lions, and elephants) and a variety of mix-and-match clothing and accessories for the dolls. A companion piece to Varnam’s first book (Cute Crocheted Animals), this new work features clothing patterns that may be familiar from that earlier title. All are easy to read and good for both beginning and more advanced crocheters. A section on the basics includes how to make simple and more advanced crochet stitches, adding finishing touches, and blocking (a method of using liquid to set and preserve the fibers of a project). Includes color illustrations and a list of resources.
VERDICT The wild animals are fun to create and keep, but also to give as gifts for the little ones. This charming book should delight crocheters of all ages.
