When computer specialist Gaige Owens was recruited to break into billionaire Alec Drummond's secure facilities in Germany, he knew it was a setup from his temporary boss Seth Lang from the CIA to get Alec's attention. Gaige didn't expect Alec to be so intimidating or charismatic or that the job wasn't over after the two met. Someone is using Alec's company as a front to send extra deliveries to the Svalbard, a global seed vault also called the Doomsday Vault. The seeds stored there are humanity's last hope in case of a global crisis, and the reasons for the bonus shipments are unclear. If Alec doesn't clear his company's name, the CIA will step in to neutralize a potential threat as his firm has access to and delivery routes through many hostile countries related to its work with the vault. If that happens, Gaige will lose the man he's beginning to love.
VERDICT Dimon's latest series featuring the Drummond brothers ties into her "End of the Line" titles with Seth from Guarding Mr. Fine but reads well as a stand-alone for libraries looking for more romantic suspense with a spy twist.
