A ordinary weekend—Adam is revising a script that has landed him in the big time, and his girlfriend Sarah leaves him home alone in Cork to go on business to Barcelona. But Sarah never comes back, and her trip was not what it seemed. Ignoring his script, Adam tracks her to a Mediterranean cruise, discovering along the way just how many people disappear off big boats. Plenty of plot movement, two subplots winding through the action, great characters, and some unexpected twists make this debut novel impossible to put down. Howard is definitely a writer to watch. Alan Smyth, Bronson Pinchot, and Suzanne Toren turn in top-notch performances.
VERDICT Will appeal to thriller fans who enjoy some detecting along with suspense.
