Faking Christmas

Laurel may be a Christmas fanatic, but she is definitely on the naughty list. After her boss mistakenly assumed that she owns the farm for which she handles social media, she may have omitted the fact that it’s actually her twin sister who’s the dependable, domestic one. When that same boss gets dumped just before the holidays, Laurel inadvertently invites him to share the farmhouse festivities with her imaginary husband and kids. Leaning in, Laurel enlists her niece, nephew, and nemesis to create an old-fashioned fake-family celebration. Can she go from burning microwaved mac and cheese to Martha Stewart, or will her white lie ruin everyone’s white Christmas? Winfrey (Just Another Love Song) crafts an intricate, amusing contemporary rom-com. The heat level is kissing-only, and the quirky characters are authentic and adorable. Narrator Jennifer Jill Araya gives an expressive portrayal of the likable leading lady. Paired with rich detail and witty dialogue, her presentation yields an enjoyable experience that will leave listeners smiling.
