Wedding planner Ama Torres and florist Elliot Bloom have a past they’d rather not revisit. When the opportunity to plan a high-profile wedding drops in Ama’s lap, she contemplates letting it go since she’s not sure she’s up to working with Elliot again. However, realizing how this opportunity could affect her career, she determines to plan a fantastic event for the famous couple while maintaining a distance from Elliot as much as possible. As the time for the festivities slips closer, the two find themselves working through their pasts and accept that their attraction is as strong as ever. Accomplished voice actors Callie Dalton and Teddy Hamilton make for a dynamic narrating duo. They both provide entertaining performances, capturing Ama and Elliot’s transition from animosity to reignited attraction. Their depiction of the spark between the couple—as apparent in the current day as it is in glimpses of their past—fairly sizzles.
VERDICT Dalton and Hamilton’s performance of Soto’s debut contemporary romance will charm fans of Mia Sosa’s and Tessa Bailey’s recent works. This skillfully narrated enemies-to-lovers, second-chance romance does not disappoint.
