Ghost Finders: Ghost of a Chance

A B-team trio of brainy JC Chance, tech expert Melody Chambers, and Happy Jack Palmer, a telepath, are sent on missions to track down spooks, while minions of the dastardly Crowley Project try to stop them. Green is a font of snappy dialog in his popular "Secret Histories" series, but while the story here is serviceable, the recording overall is below par. The programs are billed as full cast with sound effects and music, which is indeed the case; however, one is unable to find out anywhere on the recording, packaging, or publisher's website what actor is portraying which character. Audio fans tend to follow their favorite voice performers, so this is a puzzling omission. Music thunders along throughout, ladling on atmosphere with little nuance. This has the effect of diminishing the use of sound effects and makes the actors appear at times as though they're battling the timpani brigades.
