God Rest Ye, Royal Gentlemen

It is November 1935, and Lady Georgiana, 35th in line to the British throne and cousin to King George V, is planning her first Christmas with new husband Darcy O’Mara. As she begins making plans to host her first celebration in her own home, they receive a summons to spend Christmas with Darcy’s Aunt Ermintrude as the queen would like Georgiana near Sandringham where the royal family will be in residence for the holiday. Also in residence at Aunt Ermintrude’s is the notorious mistress of the Prince of Wales, Mrs. Wallis Simpson. It would not be the first time the queen has enlisted Georgiana’s help in watching the relationship between the prince and Mrs. Simpson. But before long, accidents begin to happen, and inexplicable deaths put a damper on the holiday celebrations. This 15th installment in the “Royal Spyness” series (after The Last Mrs. Summers) is another good whodunit with Lady Georgiana in the thick of it trying to find the murderer before more deaths occur.
