Hathor Du Bell is surrounded by sickeningly sweet love matches. After two seasons on the marriage market without her own proposal, however, she decides to focus on making a practical, rather than passionate match. When Hathor learns that Queen Charlotte plans to introduce her nephew—a prince—into society, she knows this match would check all the boxes. Narrators Grace Gray and Shane East perfectly capture the chemistry of the couple, from playful competition to passion. Their expressive portrayal of the witty banter and sensuous love scenes yields an engaging listening experience, with East’s seductive timbre being particularly affecting.
