After being fired as lead architect on the Glacier Bay Lodge project, Nora Bradford runs to the deserted lodge to hole up for the winter and recover from a broken heart. She has lost her fiancée and now her job…and Amity Bay, Antarctica, is certainly remote enough to give her time for thinking and healing. What Nora doesn't count on is Alexei Zaikov, the manager of Amity Bay, who spots a light on in the deserted building and decides to investigate. Surprised to find a lovely, green-eyed stowaway, Alexei must suddenly decide whether to trust this beauty or turn her in. And while Nora is instantly attracted to the tousled-haired Russian, she is the reason that Amity Bay may be shut down and fears revealing her secrets to Alexei. Can these two make sparks in the coldest terrain? Harmon's "Red Hot Russians" series (
Turning It On; Getting It Back; Pairing Off) continues with a special visit to Amity Bay. In this latest series installment—a novella—Nora and Alexei heat up the frozen climate and add fire to those cold nights.
VERDICT A perfect, quick read for those with way too much to do and a bonus for romance readers with a passion for the icy tundra over the sweltering beaches. The next entry, Shining Through, comes out in September 2017.
