On their honeymoon, Harper’s sweet husband, Ben, announces that he has a stomach ache and collapses in short order. A year later, Ben is now dying of pancreatic cancer and tells Harper that he wants to help her find a second husband before he passes. In fact, he’s even managed to set up an interview with a reporter about the search for “Harper’s new love.” Harper reacts, understandably, with shock and hurt at Ben’s plan for her. But then the reporter shows up, and it’s Liam, a man Harper once had a fling with. Not only did she give up on Liam all those years ago, but she also gave up on her dream of being an artist in New York. Mired in grief over Ben, confused over the feelings she still has for Liam, and wondering if she gave up her art too easily, she casts a magic spell on the night of a full moon and wakes up in a parallel universe where her what-ifs become reality.
