Sarah seems to understand Kat's grief, but by the time Kat realizes Sarah has a plan for revenge, it may be too late to escape.
VERDICT McCluskey may have missed the mark with her domestic suspense debut if the intent was to frighten readers. However, she succeeds in handling the grief of a parent struggling with loss. For readers who want character-driven, heartrending stories that build in intensity.
