Miller launches the “Kansas City Crime Lab” series, starring newly promoted CSI supervisor Lexi Callahan and K-9 officer Aiden Murphy. Aiden is Lexi’s brother’s best friend, so the two have known each other for many years, but neither have been willing to consider the other as a possible romantic partner until now, when a killer takes aim at Lexi and Aiden and his dog Blue step in to help.
VERDICT Tending towards the melodramatic and a little too much telling versus showing, the book is highly reminiscent of the CSI TV shows. Fans of mutual pining and crime TV would enjoy this.
