After a disastrous surf lesson, Zane and Sophie realize they can help each other for the short time they are together. As they spend more time in each other's company, their attraction grows, and they start to evaluate the futures for which they are fighting.
VERDICT This opener to the "Kisses in the Sand" series by Bielman (Kissing the Maid of Honor) is an excellent beach read. Zane and Sophie have depth and chemistry, while the seaside setting will make any reader reach for the sunscreen—even in the middle of winter.
