Leach (senior pastor, Good Shepherd Church; 40 Days of Being a Six) cohosts The Pastor’s Table podcast. She has created an easy-to-follow six-week Bible study of the Letters of John, three short texts famous for their focus on love and attributed to the Apostle John. In them, Leach finds a message of hope and a vision for a church immersed in love and God’s Word. Everything to run a successful Bible study is in the book: each of the six-week lessons begins with instructions for the leader, a QR code linking to a video lesson and group study questions, and daily prompts and questions for readers to ponder on their own. Participants should plan to spend about 15 to 20 minutes each day on their reading and questions; group sessions require 60–90 minutes once a week and include the video lesson.
VERDICT Leach is an inspiring teacher and guide who invites readers (and leaders) to open their eyes, ears, and lives to love. They’re urged to allow the Word of God to be planted like a seed deep within them. This book is perfect for both groups and individuals.
