Fleeing an abusive father, Sax Henry left home when he was only 17. Now, 28 years later, both his parents are dead, and he is overcome with guilt about the sister he left behind. He tracks her to Louisiana, where someone has been poisoning bottled water, and people are dying. It's no place to be, but Sax's guilt and desire to find his sister compel him to stay.
VERDICT This suspenseful tale features believable characters and a locale that comes to life in the author's deft hands. Recommended for readers who enjoyed Terri Blackstock's "Cape Refuge" series.
