The novel alternates between the perspectives of the three Rowlings: Kate, the successful attorney who can’t settle in one place for very long; Aurora, the seemingly happily married mother of two; and single mother Peggy, who is recovering from substance-use disorder and struggling with past decisions. As each navigates their personal struggles, one of them is murdering men.
