Keenan Day is having a horrible night. His sister dragged him to a male strip club, which he normally wouldn’t mind, except having her there makes it weird. When he steps out for some fresh air, he meets a sexy stranger, then spends the rest of the night regretting that he didn’t get the man’s phone number. Within a couple of days, Keenan’s world turns upside down when he loses his job and is accidentally punched by the husband of a prospective employer. One of the detectives who checks in on him is his sexy stranger, Nate Gordon. Nate refuses to date after a bad relationship, but before long, Keenan isn’t satisfied with merely hooking up. The story is told from Keenan’s point of view, which makes him more relatable but Nate not as fleshed out.
VERDICT Brown’s third entry in her “Cowboys & Angels” series (after Secretly Dating the Lionman) works well as a stand-alone, but fans of the series will enjoy revisiting characters from the first books. Recommended for libraries that own the series.
