Sweeter Than Chocolate

When skeptical yet ambitious reporter Dean learns he has a chance to become a news anchor, he accepts a fluff assignment about the “Cupid Chocolates” sold at Lucy’s shop, How Sweet It Is. According to local legend, if eaten on Valentine’s Day the chocolates are said to guarantee that a person will find their true love within a year. When Dean goes to investigate, he must convince a skeptical Lucy that he is just exploring the legend and is not out to prove her wrong. Lucy and Dean interview couples who have fallen in love after eating the chocolates, and that’s when Dean discovers that the chocolates might be magical after all. Shane’s (Pride & Puppies) latest is a story full of all the romantic tropes one might expect from a Hallmark romance. Brittany Pressley and Andrew Eiden provide engaging performances, creating likable characters whom listeners will want to root for. They offer excellent characterizations for secondary characters as well, making for a charming and satisfying listening experience.
