This mother-daughter duo (authors of
The Magic of Tarot and
Catalog of the Unexplained) cover a lot of ground explaining the curses, hexes, and demonic forces that can play havoc in one’s life. They provide definitional differences and some historical-cultural information so that readers can distinguish an evil-eye hex from an ancestral curse or tell apart a wraith, a banshee, and a succubus, any of which can manifest misery in one’s life. Personal experiences of sufferers lend import to the discussion. Fortunately, there appears to be both a defense and a cure for most of these deeply unpleasant experiences, in the form of meditation, spell crafting, and eliciting the aid of angels and spirit guides. The final chapters suggest the possibility that some of these ordeals might be encounters with aliens. A compendium of protective herbs and crystals delineating their properties and uses for psychic self-defense concludes the title.
