Overnight, Riley Wynn goes from an up-and-coming singer-songwriter to a superstar, thanks to an album dedicated to her past breakups. One song, “Until Now,” is a breakout hit, and Riley’s famous ex-husband claims it’s about him, when it’s really about her college sweetheart, Max Harcourt. Desperate to reclaim the narrative, Riley and Max reunite to perform together, sparking speculation. As they tour the country, they confront their past, their present, and a possible future. Inspired by Taylor Swift, married writing team Wibberley and Siegemund-Broka (Do I Know You??) have fictionalized the singer, her rocket to stardom, and her penchant for writing songs about her exes, not to poke fun at her but as an homage, imagining what would happen if second chances came to pass. Narrators Brittany Pressley and Dan Bittner strike the right note, portraying the couple as they navigate past hurts, stardom, and new beginnings.
