The Catch Me If You Can: One Woman’s Journey to Every Country in the World

Travel writer Nabongo, the first Black woman to visit all 195 countries in the world, chronicles her journey in this vibrantly photographed book. Born and raised in Detroit by Ugandan immigrant parents, Nabongo taught English in Japan, received her master’s degree in international development from the London School of Economics, and worked as a consultant for the United Nations, all while contributing to her popular travel blog, The Catch Me If You Can. Beginning in the U.S. and ending in the Seychelles off the coast of East Africa in October 2019, she shares 100 memorable destinations, plus food, photographs, travel tips, and stories of the people she met along the way. She documents issues with immigration officials, being stared at and photographed by curious locals, and painful, historic remnants of trans-Atlantic slavery. Still, she notes that the good experiences outweighed the bad, and she wishes to inspire people to pursue and achieve their dreams, whatever they are.
