Garrison Brown returns home to Vancouver, WA, after years living abroad and finds that he has become the caretaker for six cats after the death of his beloved grandmother. Violently allergic to and perhaps even phobic of felines, Garrison visits his grandmother's lawyer and learns that her instructions for her cats' adoption are extremely complicated. Garrison is almost defeated before he starts. Yet, miraculous things start happening as he finds homes for the pets. By rejoining the community he thought he had left behind, Garrison also discovers friendship and maybe even love.
