College seniors Winnie Frederickson and Cal Darling have had very different college experiences. Winnie has accomplished nothing in four years but summa cum laude and the power of invisibility. While Cal, a professor's kid who has grown up on campus, knows everyone and is ready to leave it all behind after graduation. With one semester left, they both end up in the theater department's "make-out class," which is famously hard to get into, and what goes on among the 12 people who take it every spring is an annual topic of speculation. Winnie takes the class to appear well rounded for fellowships, while Cal is just bored. What they learn over their final semester will change them both.
