As the two warily try to find connection beyond their Thread, Hwanin, Heavenly Emperor of Okhwang, is murdered. Now Sekoga must find out who dared to kill his brother while discovering who his love is now, even as a deeper plot comes into play that could affect not only everyone on the ship, but the whole world. Some familiar faces come back, allowing opportunities for resolution in more ways than one.
VERDICT This sequel to The God and the Gumiho brings a semblance of K-drama to the page with amusing side characters, good pacing, and mythological romance.
