This is Weinstein and Scarbrough’s 36th cookbook collaboration. All that cooking and writing has paid off as this latest has a comfortable feel, created through casual writing and humorous anecdotes. Basic cooking and baking concepts are breezed past in a matter-of-fact tone, so that novices get up to speed fast and experienced air-fryer cooks are not bogged down. Readers should be prepared to baby sit their cooker as these are not all hands-off recipes. They are, however, very wide ranging. The collection begins with snacks and covers sides, sandwiches, vegetables, desserts, and a host of mains, all animal-proteins based. Recipes are salt conscious, and some are or can be made gluten free. They are clearly written, with many tips concerning leftovers and numerous air-fryer dos and don’ts. Librarians should note that not every recipe will work in every Instant© model or other make/models of air fryers.
VERDICT Purchase where air-fryer cookbooks are popular.
