The Museum of Lost Quilts

When her graduate thesis stalls out, Summer returns home to Elm Creek Manor, seeking respite and distraction as she tries to finish her master’s degree in history. While in town, Summer, the youngest member of Elm Creek Quilts, agrees to help raise funds to renovate the Union Hall (home to the Waterford Historical Society) with a quilt show. Summer is wrapped up in the work, but at the same time, the quilts raise uncomfortable questions about the town’s past. Before she knows it, upset local leaders call for the show’s end, and Summer must take on a new role as a champion for the truth. Chiaverini’s 22nd entry in the “Elm Creek Quilts” series (following The Christmas Boutique) highlights the history that unites the Waterford community. Narrator Christina Moore gives voice to Summer, the quilters, and the local leaders, perfectly capturing their thorny interactions, underlaid with love for the community and one another.
