The One I Love

Shane and Amelia have been friends since they were children. Each has, at some point, secretly harbored a crush on the other, but because they’ve never shared that fact, they haven’t ever gotten together. Then Amelia gets pregnant with her boyfriend, Paul, whom she later marries, and she and Shane go their separate ways. Fast-forward years down the road, and Amelia finds herself divorced and raising her kids on her own. She meets Shane for an innocent breakfast that soon turns into a full-fledged relationship, with Shane attending Amelia’s kids’ sporting events and treating them as if they are his. Amelia and Shane begin secretly dating so as not to alarm her kids in case it doesn’t work out, but Shane’s disdain for Amelia’s ex leads him to shooting off his mouth and telling everyone that he and Amelia are engaged, which they are not—yet. The two are forced to plan a fake wedding to save face, making all their friends and family ecstatic, while sparks fly between the couple.
