The Promised Queen

After her capture, torture, death, and resurrection, Queen Euthalia (“Lia”) of Calanthe is trying to make sense of the world she reawoke in. Her body can’t keep anything down, her marriage bond with Conrí has been broken, Calanthe is still falling apart, and Lia can’t seem to stop it. It’s confirmed that Emperor Anure is holding the former rulers of defeated lands in his stronghold, which presents a new but dangerous way to defeat him and restore the conquered lands. Lia, Conrí, and their companions would be foolish to not take action. To succeed, Conrí would have to sacrifice his long-held desire to kill Anure with his own hands; it could force Conrí to choose between Lia and his lost homeland. As everyone prepares for one last chance, Lia and Conrí will have to trust each other, their companions, and their own instincts, if they are to see Anure defeated once and for all.
