Award–winning interior designer Savage’s breathtaking book starts with a solid foundation of design principles. Each layout is impeccably lighted and styled, creating a sample palette of living, dining, and outdoor rooms, along with bathrooms, libraries, and kitchens. He explains that spaces in homes should flow together as one entity with identity, function, and comfort at the forefront of the design, but he also emphasizes that the details must pop too. The texture, paint, wallpaper, color, pattern and style of the featured rooms do exactly that in the homes he designed in Nashville, TN; Rosemary Beach, FL; Palm Beach, FL; Kiawah Island, SC; and London. Most of the rooms spotlight some sort of centerpiece, and he utilizes neutrals in his designs, although some of his inspiration comes from the location of the home. His book gives readers the nitty-gritty designer’s perspective of clients’ wants and needs, which, in this case, require quite a bit of money. Stunning photographs show off each project.
VERDICT This book is filled with beautiful images of commendable but expensive designs.
